The Issues

Industry Voluntary Consensus Standards

The Commercial Spaceflight Federation is working on industry voluntary consensus standards to articulate agreed upon industry-wide safety practices.

Public-Private Partnerships

Public-Private Partnerships enable the U.S. government to assume the role of customer while still being involved in the development of the system. The government benefits from no longer having to be the sole customer; capitalizing on development of commercially owned capabilities.

The U.S. government also benefits from the firm, fixed-price and milestone based approach utilized in commercial contracts, which controls cost and drives efficiencies and innovation. This approach enables the public and the private sector to collectively advance our reach into the cosmos.

Export Control

The Commercial Spaceflight Federation works with industry experts and representatives from a variety of  government agencies (including The Departments of State and Commerce) to promote modernization of Export Control policy and procedures such as the International Traffic in Arms Regulation (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).

We aim to assist American companies to remain competitive leaders in the global market and to advance innovation and technology overall.
