The Commercial Spaceflight Federation (CSF) congratulates Blue Origin on the first successful hotfiring of their BE-4 engine last week.
The BE-4 engine will be used on the Blue Origin New Glenn launch vehicle and is a leading choice to power United Launch Alliance’s Vulcan launch vehicle as well. The development of the BE-4 engine has been completely funded by private sector investment and will help end America’s use of Russian rocket engines by 2019.
“This success is the most recent of many for Blue Origin and the industry in general,” said Eric Stallmer, President of CSF. “Blue Origin’s successful BE-4 engine test firing, illustrates the ongoing achievements and innovation by America’s commercial space industry in providing reliable, affordable, and responsive space services to a diverse and growing number of customers. We look forward to their continued progress and new innovative achievements that are already in the pipeline for 2018 and beyond.”
